Stained Glass Windows

The stained glass windows in the sanctuary were executed by Giannini and Hilgart, Chicago. The windows in the Sanctuary were given to the church from 1957 through 1963 as memorial gifts. The cost of windows and installation ranged from about $1,400 to $3,500 for each window. In 1899 Orlando Giannini partnered with Fritz Hilgert; and the firm of Giannini and Hilgert began designing art glass windows. The partners executed designs for numerous Prairie School and Chicago architectural firms. Giannini introduced Frank Lloyd Wright to his former employer at Westlake and Adams, Ward Willits, for whom Wright designed his seminal prairie house in Highland Park, Illinois in 1902. The firm of Giannini and Hilgart still makes glass in Chicago.
